Rumara works to convey the personality of her subjects. She currently specializes in painting animals, working from the feel of days spent with them in pastures and barns. Each animal presents his or herself as unique and precious, and Rumara captures the distinct essence of each creature for the viewer. The feel of a handsome scenic vista and the feel of a human model are, though different, equally rich. Rumara uses the vast array of color, value and textural effects possible within the medium of oil to develop her interpretations.
Rumara studies at the Woodstock School of Art with contemporary Chinese master Zhang HongNian and portrait artist Lois Woolley, and privately with landscape painter and figurative artist Eric Angeloch.
